“Be the change you want to see in the world”
I first discovered yoga ten years ago and in this discovery began a deep love affair that continues to this day. Initially my dedication to the physical practice of yoga came from the relief of muscular tension. However, as my journey with yoga has continued it has taken me way beyond the physical practice on a powerful journey of inner transformation and Self-discovery. Ultimately, I feel that my yoga practice has lead me to the feet of my Master, Mooji; who now leads me to that which is beyond all practicing and simply Is!
My initial practice was based in Hatha yoga until discovering Kundalini yoga in 2006. Kundalini yoga then lead me to Shakti Dance which felt like an instant home coming from the first time I experienced it! I have also spent time in India working with Iyengar teachers as I find this intense practice gives a deep understanding of the individual asanas and find it deeply healing on a physical level.
Nowadays my daily personal practice involves a mixture of styles as the feeling comes! I continue to deepen my practice by studying with different teachers whenever possible. I currently teach Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan and Shakti Dance (the Yoga of Dance).
My main focus when teaching is allowing people to come into an awareness of the deep silence that is always present within. As we access this silence through yoga and dance we connect with the true nature of our existence, enabling us to go beyond the stresses placed on us by modern day living. I really enjoy bringing a sense of fun, joy and openness to my classes, retreats and workshops and have no choice but to simply share from my heart. I also like to bring a sense do community to everything I do. We share this journey of life together and our yoga practice does not stop when we roll up our mats. There should always be time for sharing together so that we can support each other as we awaken and grow.
“Walk by the light of your own Heart.
The flow of each river is unique.
I am beyond river and flow.
I am unbound Awareness.”
I trained to teach Kundalini Yoga with the Amrit Nam Sarovar school in 2007. I studied to teach Shakti Dance in 2008 with Sara Avtar Olivier, the creator of Shakti Dance. I continue to spend time learning and dancing with Sara Avtar whenever possible. I have recently qualified as an Associate Trainer for Shakti Dance. I have been teaching regular classes since 2007 and have lead classes and workshops in London, the south west of England, in India and at many festivals around the UK. I have organised and taught on many retreats in the UK and in Turkey. I enjoy travelling and will often travel with a set of speakers should there be the opportunity for a spontaneous Shakti Dance class! In 2011 I was the course organiser for the Shakti Dance teacher training in the UK.
I also love to cook and create beautiful things in the kitchen and have a passion for nutritious food and raw chocolate! I enjoy immersing myself in nature’s beauty and love travelling and exploring the world.
“I offer you peace. I offer you love. I offer you friendship. I see your
beauty. I hear your need. I feel your feelings. My wisdom flows from
the Highest Source. I salute that Source in you. Let us work together
for Unity and Love.”
